In order to reduce our plastic landfill waste this is a cupless event.
We will have reusable running cups available to purchase if you forget yours or do not have one.
The Cream Tea Caper is an 8 hour timed event based in the stunning gardens of the Double Locks pub set in the gorgeous Riverside Valley Park in Exeter.
About the Races
You can run Solo or Run as a Relay Team of up to 4 ( only one team member on the course at a time ).
How far will you run? 1 lap? 2 laps? Half Marathon? Marathon? Ultra? to claim your fantastic bespoke spinning Cream Tea Caper Medal and individual Cream Tea in a box. ( consisting of a scone, jam & clotted cream, napkin and wooden knife ) The environment is important to us and our cream tea in a box waste is all completely compostable or recyclable. Please recycle it.
The route is a flat off road route on riverside paths, grass and woodland trail each loop is 3.3 miles, run as many laps as you like in 8 hours. You do not have to run for the whole 8 hours and you can take as many breaks as you like however the clock is still running even when you’re not.
Our Race HQ is in the beautiful grounds of the Double Locks pub which is situated on the riverside, each lap you can visit our ‘Jolly Treats station’ where you can refuel yourself with water, squash, sweets, cakes, savoury treats and much more. We also provide vegan options.
PLEASE REMEBER THIS IS A CUPLESS EVENT. You can buy our Jolly Running collapsible reusable cups for £4. Sorry we can only take Cash at the moment.
Race registration opens at 07:15am
Race starts at 09:00am
The latest time a new/final lap can be started is 4:45pm
8 laps equates to a marathon, 4 laps a half marathon, 2 a long 10k. We are listed on the 100 marathon clubs events and running 8 laps counts as an official marathon.
Each finisher is rewarded with:
- A Bespoke Cream Tea Caper Spinning Medal
- individual Cream Tea in a box. Consists of
a scone, jam & clotted cream, napkin and wooden knife
Tea, coffee and other food and drinks are available to purchase from the Double Locks.
There will be a baggage tent for you to store your belongings and there is parking within a mile of Race HQ.
Race information will be sent out to you two weeks prior to the event and race numbers are collected from registration on the morning of the event.
Entry Requirements: Minimum Age for entry is 18 years old on race day. Anyone completing an ultra distance must be 20 years old.
