Dark Halloween

Jolly Running are venturing into the dark woods of Cockington on Halloween for our Dark Halloween 5k and 10k trail races.
Tracey has dusted off her broomstick and Brian may resemble a zombie come Halloween.

The Dark Halloween 5k and 10k are night races. Both races start together from our race hq at the Drum inn and take you on a spooktacular route through cockington and scadson woods.

Cockington is one of our go to places to enjoy the trails.

Trail Running in the dark is enchanting and a different experience to running in the daylight. Our 5k route is a great opportunity to try night-time trail running. Suitable for all abilities, there will be a few hills, it’s Cockington and Scadson, and the terrain ranges from gravel paths, grass tracks, woodland trails and a small tarmac path section around the lakes.

Our course will be well sign posted with arrows, marking tape and marshals and there will also be flashing light wands along the route so you know you’re on the right track.

Your welfare is the most important factor and head/chest torches are mandatory on both distances, for your safety we operate a strict No head/chest torch No run policy. Please also wear reflective or bright gear if possible so you are seen from behind by other runners.

Fancy dress is not mandatory but is encouraged, it’s Halloween another excuse to dress up, and there is a prize for the one which catches our eye, if wearing fancy dress please bear in mind that you’ll be running through woodland and trails with branches etc, we don’t want anyone tripping themselves up on their mummy bandages or broomsticks.

There will be a Jolly treats station halfway on the 10k option and refreshment at the finish for the 5k.

Fangtastic Glow in the Dark Medal and sweet treat for every finisher.

Race registration at 6pm for race number collection.
